The Office of the Senior Vice President and General Counsel

We are responsible for addressing legal issues arising out of the activities of Rutgers University and its schools and units. Led by our Senior Vice President and General Counsel, John Jay Hoffman, this office consists of in-house attorneys and support staff, partnering with outside law firms.

The mission of this office is to educate our Rutgers clients as to the laws applicable to university operations, solve legal problems, facilitate transactions, and provide advice and representation to help our clients fulfill their missions and meet their goals.
